Scout Troops

Due to popularity two scout troops are part of the Central Gosforth Scout Group:

Gosforth (All Saints) Scout Troop
Address: All Saints Centre, Linden Road, Gosforth, Newcastle. NE3 4ES
Email: GosforthScouts.AllSaints@gmail.com
Leaders: Bob Shuttle and Jon Higgins

Gosforth (Montague) Scout Troop
Address: West Gosforth Scouts Hall, Brookvale Ave, Gosforth, NE3 4JX
Email: GosforthScouts.Montagu@gmail.com
Leaders: Lewis Rickard, Dona Skaife, Peter Griffith

Both are sea scout troops for 10½ – 14yrs olds and meet every Friday 7:45 – 9:30pm during term time. We also regularly organise joint weekend and other evening activities. Gosforth (All Saints) Troop is able to accommodate up to 24 children and Gosforth (Montagu) Troop is able to accommodate up to 20 children.

The scout leaders provide a mixed and varied programme which follows the national Scouting framework. Many of the activities are held away from the meeting place and whilst we are regarded as Sea Scouts and our programme does include some water-based activities and camps, these activities complement the wider aspect of our exciting and adventurous programme.

As an active Scout troop, we get up to all sorts of exciting and adventurous activities, both in our regular meetings and on camps and visits. Recent activities have included camping, tall ship sailing, hiking, cycle rides, map reading, first aid, debates, camp fires and games.

We allow newcomers a few weeks to settle in, so we do not expect your son/daughter to turn up in uniform for the first couple of weeks. You can also delay paying subs (currently set at £25 per term) until after you are sure that your child wishes to continue attending Scouts.

If you are interested in your child joining one of our scout troops, then please feel free to contact us by email using
