The Cub Scouts are the second section of the Scout Group following on from Beavers.
Our Cub pack is open to both Boys & Girls aged between 8 & 10½. We meet at All Saints Centre (NE3 4ES) on Friday evenings, term time only. Our Pack can have up to 24 Cub Scouts and is split into smaller groups called Sixes. Cubs take part in a wide range of activities designed to be interesting, fun and challenging. Our Cub Scout meetings consist of games and activities with plenty of time spent outdoors.
Our programme offers a huge variety of activities surrounding areas of fitness, global and beliefs; whilst allowing them to be creative and get involved in their local communities Cubs are introduced to exciting outdoor skills and take part in adventurous activities such as Hikes, Bell Boating, Trampolining, Climbing, Bike rides, as well as camps and residential experiences.
Participation and personal development is the focus, with a range of badges and challenge awards that Cubs can earn to recognise their achievements. Valuable life skills are learnt such as road safety, first aid & home safety. The leaders are committed to involving the young people when planning the programme to make it as much fun as possible, while developing teamwork and leadership skills. The section has a proven track record in the providing all members the opportunity to achieve the Cubs highest award, the Silver Chief Scout award. As a reward for achieving the silver award the Cubs are given the opportunity to be Akela for a night planning & running a meeting.
